The flexibility of the Fallschirmjäger artillery battery was showcased by its ability to use two different types of artillery pieces. They had both a conventional 7.5cm mountain gun and a newly developed 10.5cm recoilless gun. Both offered solid artillery support without the hindrance of heavy tractors. While its main role is firing artillery bombardments, the 10.5cm LG40 recoilless gun can be used against roving tanks.
